…Factions Say Omisore May Step Down

By Sodiq Lawal

As the Osun governorship election is months away, massive underground maneuvers by the leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP ) in Ile  Ife, has begun to galvanise  support for a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode as the next governor of the state .

This is just as other political fractions, particularly in Ile Ife, have urged Senator Iyiola Omisore to step down.

The fractions advised Omisore to rather be a top political stakeholder for the party than contesting for the post of a governor.

The party  has however  begun, house to house campaign for Fani Kayode, while efforts to make the plan successful were already going on among the party leadership.

A silent intra-party movement has already begun and  political stakeholders have been contacted to repeat the feat while a top team of political strategists saddled with identifying obstacles and charting courses around them, has been put in place.

It would be recalled that the youth wing of the party in the South West region has urged Femi Fani- Kayode, to run in the September governorship election in the State of Osun.

The youths under the aegis of PDP Progressive Forum, said the former Minister had the potential to lead the state to the promised land.

According to them, the dreams of the founding fathers would be brought to life if Fani-Kayode became the state governor.

The group’s Co ordinator, Kayode Olaiya, who spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital, stressed that the state needed an experienced and faithful politician like him to attain a lofty height.
