It was learnt that the incident took place in Afims Hotel in Okene, where Ogembe was expected to “empower over 1,000 women across the five local government areas of the state — Okene, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi and Ogori/Magongo.”

The hoodlums invaded the venue with weapons at about 8am, destroyed the venue and injured several women who came for the programme.

Addressing supporters and beneficiaries at the venue, the senator said it was sad that some people wanted take the law into their own hands.
