Engineer Sowade said he felt the need to give back to his community as he was brought up in the town.

He said: “I felt the need to give back to my people. I was brought up in this town, this is my home. I believe we need to rebuild our palace because it is our heritage”.

The donor also congratulated the Governor on his 67th birthday and appreciated him for all he has been doing across sectors in bringing development to the state.

He said: “Today is a way of marking the Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s birthday and to commend what he has done in the state and Modakeke in particular

“There are roads that has been abandoned for about 38 years, but the Governor has fixed it. We need to appreciate him and thank God for his life. This is a way to say happy birthday to him.

” We look at what can be done to complement his efforts and we find the need to donate the Generator and some split Air Conditions to the palace just to say thank you to the Governor and for him to do more.

“It is not about the cost but we given gratitude to the Governor because in the last three years, we see him touching all sectors that will have impact in our lives in terms of roads, Education and Infrastructure”.

The Kabiesi who spoke with newsmen through the Moye of Modakeke, Chief Adeniyi Adetunji said: ” On behalf of Kabiesi, I’m expressing our gratitude to Engineer Kayode Sowade for this beautiful gesture. He has lightening the palace and we pray God will light his way.

“We are using this opportunity to demand from the Government to provide a standby security to the palace. I want to confess to you that this palace is porous. It’s accessible to everybody. There should be a check from the gate there on people coming in and seeing a uniform person stopping you at the gate will command a respect.

” Our people do not respect people in mufti challenging them to stop. They will tell you this is our palace. So, we need a standing police officer working here 24/7 probably on rotational basis. If we have security operatives here, there would not be entry of people as they like.

” Though, local hunters are helping us but they need to go and fend for themselves. We need a standing security.

“We also need solar energy to run this machines so that the equipments can work effectively as the donor as plan and security lights round the palace. The palace is also needed to be fully furnished.

“I’m presently working with the Kabiesi 24 hours in the palace. This is a welcome development. Nobody likes darkness. Darkness is an enemy of human being. If someone is lightning our way, we have to be very grateful.

The monarch reiterated that some of the major roads connecting the town to villages are not in good shape which needed Government urgent intervention for farmers to bring their farm produce to the market for sale.

He said: “Our major challenge in Modakeke is bad roads across across the town. All roads that connect the town to villages are not in good shape and at the end of every season, we need to bring our farm outputs from villages to town to for sale.

” We are suffering. However, We are very thankful to the present administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for rehabilitating some of the roads here but need him to do more.

“Some of roads that links our streets needs to be done. So, oads is our main problem here. I’m using this medium to plead with the government to help us out on it”. Adetunji added.
