A Clergyman of The Truth Living Evangelical Church of Christ, Pastor Phillip Olaniyi has charged the incoming government of the All Progressives Congress [APC] to focus mainly on people’s welfare programmes so as to justifying the mandates of the people.

The man of God made this observation during a chat with Osun Defender at his church auditorium in Osogbo State capital in reaction to the declaration of the winner of the poll.

Gboyega Oyetola of the APC defeated his arch-opponent, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said that regardless of the few hitches that characterized the election, the people of the state have spoken, and their mandate must not be toyed with.

According to him, the issues of unpaid salary arrears of workers must take priority, saying, it is an issue that must be addressed appropriately.

He advised that as reflected in the last few month, the idea of modulated salaries should be stopped permanently and ensure payment of the several months arrears to state civil servants to ease their pains.

He said government of progressive agenda should not let the citizen down in any form.

According to him, “It is on record that government of progressive fold always put its people first in all things no matters the situation they might find themselves. This tenet must also be followed by the incoming administration of the APC”.

The clergyman also urged the incoming government to respond to calls of his people during their time of need, so as to justify the mandate given to it by the majority of the people.

He then called on the head of the incoming government to remember all his campaign promises to electorates and fulfilled it, to clear his conscience.

He said: “People so much rely on the capacity of the APC to address issues bordering them and that is why the party has the majority votes.

“So the incoming government must be able to complete all ongoing projects that are yet to be completed by outgoing administration across the state.

“No doubt, the outgoing government has built a foundation for development in several areas, even though there are shortcomings in some areas. That structure must be built upon and corrections should be made where necessary”, he added.

He noted that the uncompleted road like Gbongan- Osogbo-Ila- Odo Kwara State boundary, Oba Adesoji Aderemi Bypass road, MKO Abiola International Airport at Ido-Osun and others that are ongoing should be completed across the state.
