The Chief Security Officer of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Abubakar Suleiman is currently cooling his feet in the police net, as he allegedly killed a 15-year-old son of a former votary maid of Osun goddess, Imole Idowu within the palace premises on Monday.

Idowu, a student of a Private Secondary school who was billed to start his WASCCE examination very soon was allegedly killed with the rifle of Suleiman, which hit his chest.

While a resident of the area, who craved anonymity, said Suleiman accidentally shot the boy while servicing his rifle, another source said the incident initially started as a prank between the deceased and the security officer.

After he was shot, a source said, the late Imole was left in a pool of blood before he was later rushed to the hospital with the Osun State Ambulance and died eventually on his way to the hospital.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye confirmed the incident, stating that  the boy died and the palace guard who shot him has been arrested.

However, the police chief debunked the claim that the security officer is a policeman, insisting that the man is a private security guard.
