A leading social political organisation in Nigeria, The Progressives League, TPL has described Mr Yinka Odumakin and his breakaway faction of Afenifere as nothing but a cultural Irritants among Yoruba. This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the National Convener, Mr Ileowo Kikiowo and National Publicity Secretary of the group, Dr. Oyedokun Alli.
According to the group, only those who has sold their conscience by collaborating with anti Yoruba element to rape our national Commonwealth in recent past will brazenly twist the vice president’s analysis on the security situation to suit their mercantile interests.
The Odumakin- Afenifere not only brazenly twisted the statement of the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo, they also made a job out of attacking the person and personality of the vice president in recent times.
TPL therefore appeals to Nigerians that the progress made in the last four years must never be jettisoned on the altar of hate speeches and twisted narrative of those who want to take us back to the years of Holocaust.
The group further appreciate the commitment and loyalty of Prof Osinbajo on the Social Investment Programme, SIP and also the gain of the bilateral meeting with Vice President Pence of the United States which will eventually help our economy, security and development.
The combination of President Muhammed Buhari and vice president Osinbajo will no doubt midwife the Nigeria of our dream whereby integrity, tenacity and hardworking will be the national symbols and no amount of cultural irritants can stop our path to progress, the group emphasized.
