Why I Have No Regret For Supporting Tinubu – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said he remains resolute in his backing of Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid, expressing no regrets despite criticism.

Wike, a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party, openly supported Tinubu from the rival All Progressives Congress during the 2023 election, a move that resulted in the APC winning the oil-rich state for the first time.

The Minister disclosed this during a visit to APC’s Zonal Vice President Victor Giadom in his hometown of Gokana, Rivers State.

Wike reaffirmed his support, stating, “I stand for it. I have no regret at all, and that is why I will continue to support the government of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.”

Wike emphasized the current non-political climate, saying, “We have no time for politics. This is not the time for anybody to say: ‘I am for this, I am for that.’ We have not reached that time. When the time comes, we will know who is who.”

Notable personalities in attendance at the event included former Abuja Senator Philip Aduda, Senators Barry Mpigi and Allwell Onyeso from Rivers South East and Rivers East, Senator Sam Anyanwu, Senator Sandy Onor from Cross River state, and South-South PDP Vice President Dan Orbih, among others
