The Ag Head of Public Affairs of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Mr Demianus Ojijeogu has annouced to both applicants and the public the resolution of the council on new date for examinations.

You will recall that there was news of postponement credited to Mr. Patrick Areghan who is the Head of National Office. The council debunked the claims saying the date was internationally decided on by WAEC members countries.

With the new arrangement, the usual popular May/June examination wouldn’t hold as expected by applicants because of the disruption to the school calendar caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.

Demianus said, “The new arrangement is in line with the current academic calendar and it jointly resolved in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education”.

The statement reads, “Consequently, the council wishes to inform schools, candidates, parents and the general public that the examination will hold from August 16 to September 30, 2012. The international timetable for the conduct of the examination will be released in due course”.
