Following the unknown whereabouts of a final year student of Accounting Department, Okuku Campus, Yemi Olaniyan, Students of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, are set to stage a peaceful protest.

The students made this decision during a stakeholders meeting held at the Ikire campus of the institution.

Olaniyan was reported to have gone missing after he spent a night at a Police Station in Lagos State where he had lodged after submitting some documents for Industrial Training at the ICAN office.

Olaniyan had informed his friends that he would be spending the night at the station but the officers on duty have however, denied accommodating a student on that particular night.

The president of the Faculty of Humanities Students Association, Atanda Francis, said the protest would serve as an avenue for the students to project their plight and other issues they have being battling with.

He also expressed dissatisfaction over the supply of electricity on campus, stating that the school generator was only switched on because of the ongoing JAMB examination.

“I asked the Chairman of works if there would be electricity supply on campus next week when students would be writing exam and he told me the generator is on because of JAMB examination alone. I don’t know if NASU is working for JAMB or the Students”, Francis added.
