Two killed In Ilorin Cult Clashes

 

Two suspected cultists were reportedly killed on Tuesday 16th March 2021, in a renewed clash between rival cult groups in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The suspected hoodlums were said to have gone on the rampage in the early hours of Tuesday and in the process allegedly killed two persons in Aduralere and Amilengbe areas of the metropolis.

But the state police command only confirmed the death of two persons.

The command spokesperson Ajayi Okasanmi said that “my response to the issue of the cult incident in Ilorin metro today.

“Two men suspected to be cultists were hacked down around Aduralere area of Ilorin metro by suspected rival cult groups in the wee hours of today (Tuesday). Efforts are on top gear to get the perpetrators of the heinous crime arrested while calm has been fully restored.

“Commissioner of Police Mohammed Bagega has also directed divisional police officers (DPOs) to ensure that aggressive patrol of the state is activated while law-abiding citizens are advised to go about their lawful businesses.” he said.
