A shop owner in Esa-Oke, Osun State, has accused police officers of looting his shop during the ongoing monarch dispute, identifying one of them as an officer named Yusuf.

The Secretary of Omoluabi Progressives, Lani Baderinwa, has dismissed the suggestion by Hon. Oluwole Oke that former Osun State Governor, and immediate past Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, should beg President Bola Tinubu to resolve their political rift.

Baderinwa, while featuring on Oro Oselu, a political programme on Rave FM on Monday, reacted to Oke’s post, where the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency advised Aregbesola to prostrate before Tinubu in a bid to mend their fractured relationship.

3. 2026: APC Group Canvasses Zoning Party Ticket To Osun West After Basiru’s Declaration

Less than 24 hours after one of the contenders for the 2026 governorship ticket of the APC in Osun, Senator Ajibola Basiru, officially launched his political platform, Alubarika Movement, a group within the party has asked the leadership to zone the governorship ticket to Osun West Senatorial District.

The group, operating under the aegis of Osun West Crusaders, staged a peaceful demonstration at the party secretariat in Osogbo on Monday, insisting that the district must produce the next governor, having been marginalised for the past 26 years.

4. I Never Advised Aregbesola To Apologise To Tinubu – Omoluabi Spokesperson

The Organising and Publicity Secretary of Omoluabi Progressives, Comrade Abosede Oluwaseun, has refuted media reports that he advised former Governor of Osun and patron of the group, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to beg President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement on Tuesday, Oluwaseun denied media reports claiming the Omoluabi Progressives has accepted and is willing to look into the advise of House of Representatives member, Oluwole Oke, where he urged the former Minister of Interior to apologise to the President.

In 2005, during the Osogbo Oroki Day celebration, Rauf Aregbesola, then a gubernatorial aspirant under the Action Congress (AC) for the 2007 elections, who was vying for the governorship seat of Osun State, was attacked. Olagunsoye Oyinlola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was his main opponent and was eventually declared the winner of the April 14, 2007, election, though this decision was later overturned by the election petition tribunal.
