1. Parking Dispute: Police Wade-In As Drunken Amotekun Operative Allegedly Assaults Man In Osun

An operative of the Osun State Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun Corps on Tuesday allegedly assaulted a middle-aged man identified as Akande Smile Adedayo at the Old Garage area of Osogbo, the state capital.

Osun Defender gathered that the incident, which happened a few minutes past noon, arose from a dispute over a parking space.

2. Stop Misleading Osun People, Our Appeal Pending In Court – APC To PDP

The opposition All Progressives Congress in Osun State has disclosed that the case filed by chairmen who won the Yes or No local government election in the state at the Court of Appeal in Akure is still pending before the court.

The APC said, as against what the ruling Peoples Democratic Party was saying, that the matter has been dismissed; the court only declined jurisdiction.

3. APC Accuses Governor Adeleke Of Destroying Education In Osun

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of ruining the education sector in the state.

The APC Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, made the allegation in a press release, criticising Adeleke for sacking 1,500 teachers recruited by the previous administration without providing an alternative solution.

4. Family Seeks Justice For Slain Police Inspector

The family of Inspector Tunde Olagbaju, a police officer who was allegedly killed in a road accident involving a road safety official in Osogbo, Osun State, has cried out for justice.

According to the brother of the deceased, Olagbaju Abraham Ayodele, Inspector Olagbaju was attached to Zone 11 and had worked for AIG Okafor in Lagos for eight years before being released to return to his state in December.

Abraham explained that his brother had returned to Osun State on December 26, 2024, and was to report back to Zone 11. However, on January 3, 2025, Inspector Olagbaju attended a police prayer end-of-year party at Zone 11 and took permission to eat beside the zone.
