Tragedy As OSPOLY Loses Pioneer Lecturer

Tragedy struck on Monday as Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, lost one of its pioneer lecturers, Dr Donald Rotimi Ogungbase to the cold hand of death.

According to the announcement made by the deceased associate, Ogungbase who was among the pioneer staff of the department of marketing in the institution breathed his last on the evening of Monday, October 16, 2023.

The deceased who transferred his service from ‘The Polytechnic Ibadan, Eruwa campus in 1994 to Iree Poly held many managerial positions in the institution before he retired from service.

Ogungbase before his death and retirement from service managed to be the Head of the Department of Marketing and Purchasing Supply, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, chairman committee of Deans and Directorate of Examination.

However, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, Iree chapter in a statement through its publicity secretary expressed their grievances over the demise of Ogungbase, while asking the Almighty God to grant him eternal rest.

“With heavy heart, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Iree Chapter announces the demise of Dr. Ogungbade, D.R. (Formally of Marketing Department) yesterday night 16th October, 2023.”

“May God grant him eternal rest and grant the family fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”

“We will keep you informed on the burial arrangements as soon as his family decides” the statement reads.
