Tragedy As Madman Stabs Nine People To Death In Adamawa

One Ali Denham, suspected to be mentally ill, has reportedly stabbed at least nine people to death in Adamawa State.

It was revealed on Friday morning that there was a commotion in Kate-Gamji village in the Sheleng Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday after Denham embarked on his killing spree for reasons unknown to members of the community.

The incident did not settle well with residents as some angry youths in the village reportedly surrounded Denham and disarmed him while they also beat him to death.

“Ali Denham, a mentally ill man, killed nine villagers and was also killed by the angry youth of the community. This happened on Wednesday at Sheleng community,” Sahara Reporters quoted an anonymous source saying.

Another source who confirmed the incident to journalists added, “He was holding a knife, and everyone that came his way, including an aged woman and man, were stabbed with the knife. He ensured the person he stabbed was dead before moving to someone else.”

It was gathered that the remains of the deceased persons were buried on Thursday evening.

It was also learnt that family members of the suspected man had fled the community.

The state police command, however, has not issued any official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
