A magistrate court sitting in Osogbo has remanded three men in Ilesa Prison Custody over alleged possession of fire arms and armed robbery.
They are, Aderibigbe Adekunle, 45’, Lasisi Kehinde, 25’, and Wasiu Adeyinka, ’45’ who are facing a seven-count charge bothering on armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms and threat to kill.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Oladoye Joshua told the court that the accused committed the offence on the 22nd March 2018 at Bovas filling station area, Ile-Ogbo, Iwo environ.
He said the accused persons and others at large attacked one Prince Popoola with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons and robbed him of a bag containing one Nokia phone valued N12,200 and cash sum of N153,000.
Oladoye said the accused persons and others at large threatened to kill Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje, the Olu of Ile-Igbo town and Chief Shittu Kehinde with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.
He said the offence committed is contrary to Section 6(b) and punishable under section 1(1) of the robbery and firearms (special provision) act, Cap RII VI.14 laws of federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Section 86 (1) (2) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The accused persons pleas were not taken due to the magnitude of the offence committed.
The defence counsel, Bose Dada prayed the court to grant her clients bail in the most liberal terms.
Presiding Magistrate, M.A Awodele transferred the case to the Chief Magistrate Court Iwo for mention.
She then ordered the remand of the accused persons in Ilesha Prison and adjourned the matter till June 18, 2018.
