There is palpable tension in Delta State following the alleged killing one member of Aladja community by armed Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba youths at about 9:30am on Tuesday morning.

Reports say three other persons were injured in the ensuing gun battle among the youths.

The cause of the latest attacks by the armed youths is not unconnected with the land dispute between the two communities.

Consequently, Parents have withdrawn their children from school as a result of the attacks while the Egweya (women group) blocked the entrance to Aladja community due to sporadic gun shots.

Former President of Aladja community council, Hon. Tabuko Kabedje who was spotted rushing one of the injured victims to the hospital, confirmed the report to newsmen, saying,” I cannot see or talk to you now. Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba are attacking us.”

Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka did not respond to calls put across to his mobile phone but the shooting is still ongoing.
