Tension In Ilare As PDP Thug Shot Husband, Wife

 

Tension has pervaded Ilare-Ijesa, a community in Obokun Local Government of Osun state over the attack on a family by a suspected political thug, Iseoluwa Omole, who was allegedly working for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Omole allegedly launched attack on the family and shot husband and wife, Mr Elijah Babajide and Mrs Omoyeni Babajide who were both members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

It was gathered that Omole allegedly shot Babajide on the chest and the wife on the leg.

The attack on the couple has been frightening other members of the APC, and some of them have been leaving the community for the fear of being attacked.

Investigation revealed that Omole has been arrested by the police and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Osogbo.

Military men and mobile policemen have been deployed to the town to calm the situation and forestall any further breakdown of law and order, it was learnt.

Both the husband and wife were said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
