Tems Wins Second Grammy For “Love Me JeJe”

Afrobeats singer Tems has claimed her second Grammy Award, winning the Best African Music Performance category for her hit track “Love Me JeJe” at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
The Nigerian singer triumphed over a strong field of nominees, including Burna Boy with his song “Higher,” Asake and Wizkid’s collaboration “MMS,” Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow,” and Chris Brown, who was the only non-Afrobeats nominee with his track “Sensational,” featuring Davido and Lojay.
Tems’ win solidifies her position at the forefront of the Afrobeats movement and adds to her growing list of accolades, which already includes a Grammy for her collaboration on Future’s “Wait for U.”

Tems accepted the award at the Grammy Premiere Ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, further solidifying her global influence.
“Love Me JeJe” has become a major hit, topping Rolling Stone’s Top 40 Afropop Songs of 2024 and amassing over 400 million streams on Spotify.
In addition to this win, Tems received three nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards, including Best African Music Performance for “Love Me JeJe,” Best Global Music Album for her debut album Born in the Wild, and Best R&B Song for “Burning.”
Her Grammy win has sparked national pride, with Nigerian political figure Peter Obi offering congratulations, underscoring the significance of Tems’ success in elevating African music on the global stage.
