Sunshine Stars team bus was reportedly attacked by suspected hoodlums on Thursday along the Ore -Benin expressway.
A short statement on the club’s official X handle noted that the hoodlums shot a ball boy during the incident.
The team manager and some of the players were also seriously injured.
Sunshine Stars defeated Shooting Stars 1-0 in a South West derby clash at the Akure Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The Owena Waves are scheduled to take on Gombe United at the same ground this weekend.
However, the game is expected to be postponed by the Nigeria Premier Football League following the incident.
