“Spiderman” Mamoudou Gassama Offered A Post In Mali’s Military

Mamoudu Gassama became famous for climbing a four storey building to rescue a boy hanging off the balcony. The video of him getting to the child in just 30 seconds began to trend shortly after it was captured leading him to get a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and also a honorary French citizenship.

Now the President of Mali, Ibrahim Baoubacar Keita, has allegedly asked  Gassama to forfeit his newly given French citizenship and firefighter job and return to Mali to become a captain in the Malian Army.

When the president of Gassam’s home country heard the news, he met with him and there are allegations that Mali’s president now wants the brave 22-year-old to return home and work for his home country instead.

Social media users especially Africans have however advised the young man not to take the offer.
