The Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Michael Adaralewa, has reiterated his readiness to deploy personnel to partner the Nigeria Corrections Armed Squad to guard custodial centres in Osun State.
The Commandant made the pledge when he visited the Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service in Osun State, Mr. Tolu Ogunsakin on Friday.
Osun Defender reports that the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke, had during a security council meeting on Wednesday, called for the fortification of correctional centers to hug guide against jailbreak.
A statement by the command spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke noted that the Command pledged to support the Nigeria Correctional service to checkmate Jail break in the country.
‘’NSCDC is saddled with the responsibility of protecting critical national asset and infrastructure and am assuring you that the command is ready to support Nigeria Correctional service to checkmate Jail break in the country,” Adaralewa said.
Speaking further, the Commandant called for a synergy between the two agencies to achieve the goal of protection of lives and property.
He called for support from all stakeholders to put an end to security challenges facing the country.
The State Controller of Corrections, Mr. Tolu Ogunsakin while responding, appreciated the new NSCDC Commandant for the visit, expressing his readiness to work closely with the corps to improve security architecture in the state.
