The lawmaker representing Ayedire state constituency in the state of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has congratulated Muslims as they welcomed ramadan, the month of fasting and intense devotion for piety.

Ogunkanmi, a serving Deputy Chief Whip in Osun Parliament in a message to his constituency and Muslims all over the world, urged them to pray for Nigeria as the country faces many challenges.

The lawmaker made the appeal in a statement personally signed in his hometown, IleOgbo on Saturday.
He said the fasting period offers a unique opportunity that Allah answer all prayers.

He appealed to Muslims to use the opportunity to pray for Nigeria to bring peace back to the country and beyond, and for healing and harmony throughout the world.

“Muslims should seek greater personal discipline, which is necessary for the realization of a great nation.”

He urged the rich in the society to care for their neighbours, the poor and the marginalised.

He wished all Muslims a successful completion of the 30-day fasting period.
