Political Office Holders Should Prioritize The Empowerment Of Their People – Governor Oyetola

 

It was celebration galore for the people of Ilesa and its environs as they gathered at Zenababs Hotel and Resorts, Ilo-Ilesa, Osun to jubilate on the Supreme Court judgement that validated the election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Member, House of Representatives, Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni acknowledged the support of the electorates for their unalloyed support before, during and after the election.

He promised that both the young and old of his constituency will enjoy the dividends of democracy, pledging to deliver his manifestoes with the fear of God.

An award of excellence was presented to Hon. Ayeni by the Nigerian Union of Teachers, (NUT) Ijesa South zone for his outstanding contribution to education in the area.

Earlier in his goodwill message, Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye disclosed that the thanksgiving ceremony was about the affirmation of the Apex Court that Gboyega Oyetola is the governor, state of Osun.

The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran congratulated Hon. Ayeni describing him as a man with a large heart.

Oba Aromolaran charged the governor to create more empowerment programmes for the Youths, stressing that an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.

He said “Work more on Internally Generated Revenue so as to be able to run the government successfully” just as he prayed for hitch free tenure of office.

Highlight of the thanksgiving was the distribution of forty-eight sewing machines to Hon Ayeni’s constituents who have acquired comprehensive skills in fashion designing by the first lady, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola in his speech commended Hon. Lawrence Ayeni for his diverse empowerment programmes since he was a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

He charged other political office holders and well meaning Nigerians to follow the trend.

Governor Oyetola admonished the beneficiaries to utilize the equipment for the purpose meant.
