Police Parade 10 Suspected Robbers In Osun

Authorities of the Osun State Police command on Tuesday paraded 10 suspected armed robbers, who have been terrorising residents in the state

Besides, four locally made pistols, 10 live cartridges, 13 mobile phones, one locally made double barrel pistol, one double face axe, charms and three, motorcycles were also recovered from the suspects.

Parading the suspects before journalists in Osogbo, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Ige said her command would not relent in its commitment to rid the state of criminals.

Names of the arrested armed robbery suspects, who belonged to two different gangs include Olawale Ridwan (25), Adedayo Taoreed Akanmu (30), Simiyu Gbolahan Odeyemi (19), Ganiyu Bolaji (32), James Ebere (30) and Kareem Jelili (41).

Others include Olabisi John (24), Bowofoluwa Oluwaseun (24), Idowu Tope (24) and Santos Chukwuemeka Emmanuel (27).

According to the Police boss, one of the suspected armed robbers, Olabisi John led his gang to a resident of Mesuruke Sooko compound, in Ipetumodu on the 25th of November, 2018 and made away with a Toyota Camry car worth N3 million and other valuables.

Ige further explained that the command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) immediately swung into action and arrested one of the hoodlums, Olabisi with one locally made gun and a complete native dress belonging to the owner of Toyota Camry.

She added that the trio of Bowofoluwa Oluwaseun, Idowu Tope and Santos Chukwuemeka Emmanuel were arrested on the 27th of March, 2019 for allegedly robbing a commercial motorcycle rider at gunpoint, dispossessing him of his Infinix mobile phone valued at ₦56,000 and a sum N17,000 cash.

Ige maintained that all the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation into the offences.
