Osun State Police Command has arrested two suspected motorcycle robbers, Mutiu Azeez and Afolabi Mayowa, over the alleged killing of a commercial motorcycle operator, Olatokun Mayowa, at Iragbiji.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Fimihan Adeoye, who paraded the suspects at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command, Osogbo said, Azeez, 37, popularly known as Tombolo, and his 36-year-old accomplice, Mayowa had confessed to the murder of the motorcyclist and stealing of his motorcycle.
Adeoye said information had come to the police through the palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul Rasheed Olabomi, that an unknown corpse was discovered at a community around the Osaji village farm, along Egbeda road.
The police Commissioner said, “The corpse was met tied to a cocoa tree with a rope and was seriously injured on the head. The deceased was later identified to be one commercial motorcyclist named Olatokun Mayowa, a male, aged 21.”
