Police Dies In Gun Fight With Kidnappers

A police officer attached to Operation Puff Adder, Ambi John, has lost his life after crossfire with suspected kidnappers in the federal capital territory (FCT).

This was disclosed by FCT police spokesperson, Mariam Yusuf, on Tuesday, said John died at the hospital while receiving treatment for gunshot wounds he sustained while exchanging bullets with kidnappers.

According to her, “the operatives had repelled multiple attacks by the suspected kidnappers in the early hours of Tuesday along Dankusa, Angwan-Zegele-Zuba axis in the FCT.

“The gunmen had escaped into the forest bordering the FCT and Niger state after abducting four persons from Dankusa”.

She added that operatives from the command’s anti-kidnapping squad have made some arrests in connection with the abductions.

The PPRO said, FCT commissioner of police, Bala Ciroma, commiserated with the family of the officer who died in the service of the nation.
