The Police at Moore Division in Ile Ife, said on Tuesday that it had arrested two suspected members of a dreaded cult gang (Aiye) operating in the ancient city of Ile Ife.
A dependable source, who sought anonymity, told OsunDefender that the gang had been robbing, attacking people and raping ladies at Iremo, Akarabata, and Orita Fogo areas of Ile Ife for sometimes.
Those arrested, according to the source, include one of their leaders, simply identified as Dele (a.k.a. Thunder) and one other, yet to be fully identified.
The two suspects were arrested on Sunday Aug. 12 by a police team from the Division at about 9.30 p.m. at a beer parlour near Orita Fogo area.
“They were arrested while molesting law abiding members of the public. The police has been on their trail for some time,” the source disclosed.
