Police Arrest 2 Men For Stealing Electricity Cables In Ile Ife

Operatives of the Police Division at Moore in Ile Ife, on Thursday said it has arrested two men for allegedly stealing electric cables.

Our correspondent learnt that the Police foiled the theft of over 30 meter long cables at Ojoyin community in the ancient town.

They said, the two men on sighting patrol vehicle inward Ojoyin jumped into the bush leaving behind an over 30 meter long cable on the road.

According to the police, the vandal had drawn out the concealed cable on the road from the connecting point at the base of a lamp post when they sighted the operatives but were later apprehended by the combine effort of the Police and the residents.

The police had in the wake of been patrolling the area to curb incessant vandalization before the incident occurred.
