THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed a new date for the governorship primary election of the party in the State of Osun.

The primary, according to a letter sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will now hold on March 8, 2022.

According to the party in the letter signed by its National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, the primary could no longer hold on March 7 for logistical challenge.

The major opposition party will be electing its candidate who will be slugging it out with the incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other candidates in the July 16, governorship election.

The candidates vying for the PDP’s ticket are Senator Ademola Adeleke, the party’s flag bearer in the last governorship election in the state, his cousin, Mr. Dele Adeleke, former Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Fatai Akinbade, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Dotun Babayemi and Hon. Sanya Omirin.
