Former National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, has berated the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade federal constituency, Wole Oke, over his recent advise to former Osun Governor and immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to beg for forgiveness from President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress as a prodigal son.
Odeyemi, who condemned the gesture also alleged the lawmaker of disloyalty to the PDP.
He described Oke’s actions as “disgraceful” and an “outright betrayal” of the PDP, which has supported him for decades.
“How does a man who has benefited immensely from the PDP—who has been given the party’s ticket six times effortlessly since 2003—turn around to publicly seek validation from the APC at the expense of the people of Osun State?
“This is not just disgraceful; it is an outright betrayal of the party that made him who he is today. While Wole Oke plays his usual political games, some of us are watching closely, fully aware of his brand of politics.

“Just recently, he was lobbying PDP leaders in Osun, claiming to be a loyal party man. Now, in the blink of an eye, he is seeking the goodwill of APC. You cannot be begging in the day while plotting disloyalty at night and expect the people to remain deceived for long.”
Calling the lawmaker to order, Odeyemi emphasised that Oke cannot serve two masters at the same time. “He cannot continue to enjoy the benefits of PDP while shamelessly seeking validation from the ruling APC. This is not strategy—it is desperation. If he had any political principles left, he would either stand firm with the PDP or make a clean break instead of playing both sides in a pathetic bid to remain relevant,” he said.
Speaking on the forthcoming local government election in the state, Odeyemi warned Oke against sponsoring physical attacks or initiating petitions against the PDP candidate for Local Government Chairman, Jire Agboola.
“Furthermore, I want to sound a clear note of caution to Wole Oke. The PDP in Obokun has endorsed Jire Agboola as our candidate for Local Government Chairman, sponsoring physical attacks against the PDP candidate or initiating petitions to undermine him is working against the party and engaging in an ungodly act.
“At this point, the PDP must take a stand. No party should continue to accommodate a man who lacks the discipline, loyalty, and integrity to stand with those who made him. The days of political chameleons must come to an end,” the PDP helsman noted.
