Our Pains, By 110 Abducted Dapchi Schoolgirls’ Parents And many Other Interesting Newspaper Headlines.

 

Most Newspapers have the same caption which is centred around the Dapchi girls. THE NATIONS reports that parents of the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls wept yesterday as they staged a protest in front of the national Assembly in Abuja to draw their plight. They urged the government to do everything possible to bring back the 110 pupils of the Government Girls Technical Science School, Dapchi, who were abducted on February 19.

THE PUNCH states that the protesters were clad in black clothes were brought together by a group,Coalition in Defence of Nigerian democracy and Constitution, and supported by our Mumu DonDo Movement. The group transported five of the schoolgirls’ parents from Dapchi to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Also on the ongoing terrible event of abduction, NIGERIAN TRIBUNE gives a report on how the senate on Thursday summoned the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-general Tukur buruntai, to brief in on the actual situation of things and present clear operational strategies to rescue the remaining Chibok and Dapchi schoolgirls within two weeks.

THE GUARDIAN also shows the concerns of the first lady Aisha Buhari has she summed up pleas with the charge ‘leave our daughters alone!, leave our daughters alone!, leave our daughters alone!’. She noted that ‘as a mother’, she shared the ‘’sorrow and agony of the parents’’ expressing her earnest desires that efforts by the government for the girls’ release would yield speedy recovery.

NEW TELEGRAPH shows the anguish of a parent in an interview, who was visibly angry at the development. He urged the federal Government and the international community to join hands together in combating terrorism and insurgency in the North-East.

VANGUARD also comes up with an interview with one of the the parents who is a father of three said his whole household has been traumatized by the abduction.’ Each time my wife looks at he bed our daughters lie at night, she breaks down in tears and weeps profusely.’’ Nobody has experienced  joy since the girls  went missing, he said.
