A telecommunications company, RLG Adulawo Technology City in Ilesa in the State of Osun has begun the training of about 5,000 Youths of the state in ICT under the phase two of the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme Technology, OYESTECH.

The training organized in conjunction with the State Government and Omoluabi Holdings for free is going on simultaneously across all the nine federal constituencies in the state.

The ICT training covers areas like Digital TV Assemblage and Repairs, Phone Assemblage and Repairs, Computer Assemblage and Repairs which is an entrepreneurship empowerment initiative.

The move according to the organizers is to also empower the Youth of the State of Osun to be self-reliant through applied ICT and entrepreneurial skills development.

The state commissioner for finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji said N320 million was spent on training youths in the first batch of the programme, adding that the training cost was higher than that of the second batch because the beneficiaries were sent to Ghana for internship after their classroom training as the company had not been established at that time.
