Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has resolved to lay much emphasis on character modeling, giving the needed basic and qualitative education to pupils.
This resolution top the lists of the recommendations of the Board at the end of the stakeholders meeting during the week by some senior staff of the board and other stakeholders aimed at conducting thorough x-ray of some emerging issues in Nigeria as it relates to educational policies and progammes among many others.
It was noted for some times now, many concerned stakeholders have been making frantic efforts to proffer solutions to the numerous social vices in the society bearing in mind that no society can achieve true success and prosperity without its youth having the right mix of cognitive and non cognitive competencies with high moral values and Godly characters to achieve real success in life.
Speaking with newsmen at the end of the meeting, a top educational echelon in the State Alhaji Fatai Adesina Kolawole said Osun SUBEB has concluded plans to ensure instilling of Omoluabi ethos in the pupils.
He said: “we will emphasize literacy, numeracy andencourage reading habits but character moulding shall be done pari pasu and given due recognition amongst teaching force, stakeholders and pupils”.
The educationist therefore concluded that it is the best way to the future.
