Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 8, Ilesa East Local Government of the State of Osun, were today prevented from voting in the governorship primary of the party.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is from Ifofin, Ward 8.

He was away in Ghana for official assignment.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that names of majority of the APC members who are loyalists of Aregbesola have been deleted from party’s register being used for accreditation.

The APC members could not be accredited to vote as their names were not in the register, a development that resulted into protest.

In response to the protest, the returning officers who were appointed by Governor Oyetola, told the APC members to approach the court with their grievances.

This is just as there was over voting in the same ward.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the accredited voters at the ward were about 300 while votes declared for Oyetola was 340 without Adeoti’s votes.

Eventually, over 500 votes were recorded against 300 accredited votes.
