Osun Police Boss Assures Residents Of Safety, Urges Youths To Shun Internet Fraud

The Commissioner of Police in the State of Osun, Mr Fimihan Adeoye has called on residents of the state to be peaceful and avoid anything that could cause the breakdown of law and order.

Adeoye also implored Youths to shun internet fraud just as he assured that the force will not waver in ensuring that the relative peace enjoyed in the state is unbothered.

Featuring on a radio programme in Osogbo on Thursday, the Osun Police Commissioner said the command has in the past months tried to nip in the bud cases of crime, fraud, kidnapping among others.

On Internet Fraud, he said the police has deployed various mechanisms to checkmate the activities of Youths who are now into the business urging them to refrain from the act as those caught will face the music.

CP Adeoye attributed the success of the command to the State Government of Osun led by Governor Rauf Aregbesola for its proactiveness and support for security agencies, a development that has made the state one of the most peaceful in the country.

“We have put in place measures to checkmate crime. We are happy that the state is peaceful and of low crime rate. We will just tell all those who perpetrate crime especially Internet Fraud and those who abuse social media to watch it because we are after erring ones.”

“I must also commend the government for their support, the support has been massive and helped a lot. We hope this will continue.”

He said the Police is prepared to ensure a hitch and violence free state before, during and after the September 22 governorship elections urging the people of the state to help the police by avoiding the break out of violence during the electioneering.
