By Solomon Odeniyi

The new Acting Chairman for the Peoples Democratic Party, State of Osun chapter, Mr Sunday Akanfe, was on Thursday inaugurated in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Akanfe,  who was the former deputy chairman of the party in the state, was appointed to lead the party in acting capacity after the party’s NWC suspended the embattled, Soji Adagunodo for alleged anti-party activities last week.

According to reports, Akanfe’s inauguration was held at the office of the National Vice Chairman (South West) of the party with some members of the Osun State Working Committee of the party in attendance.

Speaking after the inauguration, the Acting Chairman of the PDP in the State of Osun, disclosed he would ensure peace returns to the party, saying he had no grudge with the suspended chairman.

He said “We don’t have any grudge with Soji Adagunodo . We will resolve all our differences when we get home.

“I want to assure you that the PDP under my leadership will swing into action to close ranks within the party and move the party to a greater height.”

“The state working committee, in the last couple of days has started reaching out to the aggrieved members of the party and to the glory of God, the move has started yielding positive results.”

The National Vice Chairman of the party (South), Mr Eddy Olafeso, in his remarks, said the party members should work in unity in order to take back the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress.
