He said: “During our general meeting, our amiable Chairman, Comrade Jare Tiamiyu who was perturbed by the rising cases of rape in the country expressed worries and urged government and security authorities to fasten their bets and ensure those arrested perpetrators did not go unpolished so as to serve as deterrent to others.

“Fighting against this disgusting menace that is spreading even faster than the ravaged Coronavirus pandemic in the country required collective responsibility.
Statistics indicted that at least two million Nigerian girls experience sexual abuse.

“I, therefore, call on our law enforcement agencies and the judiciary to be more responsive in their prosecutions, ruling and passing judgment on perpetrators of any human being found guilty of rape to save and secure the human right of our girl child in Nigeria.

“All hospital owners and government parastatals should provide an emergency section to serve as first aid response to the victims of rape to save their lives.”
