As the State of Osun joins the rest of the world to celebrate the 2017 ‘’World Tuberculosis Day’’, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Akinyinka Esho has called on the inhabitants of the state who are afflicted by the disease to report to the nearest hospital in their vicinity for treatment.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry, the theme of this year’s celebration is ‘’Unite to end TB’’ and the slogan is ‘’Accelerating TB Case finding and Treatment’’.
The theme of this year’s celebration is apt because it calls on all stakeholders to unite to fight the tuberculosis scourge.
Tuberculosis, despite being curable, still remains a disease of public health importance.
