Osun Lawmaker, Ogunkanmi Mourns Late Olupo

The Deputy Chief Whip, State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has described the late Olupo of Oluponna, Oba Emmanuel Onaolapo Oyebanji, Fadare II as a peace loving and development passionate monarch.

In a statement on Wednesday, Ogunkanmi commiserated with the Olupo-in-Council, indigenes and residents of Oluponna on the demise of the traditional ruler.

The lawmaker representing Ayedire state constituency in the House of Assembly in a condolence message said the departed stood for what was right in community development, lived to promote the values of fairness and justice as custodian of the tradition, and radiated love for all and sundry.

Hon. Ogunkanmi added that the late Oba Oyebanji Fadare II was a respected royal father, exemplary and compassionate leader who showed strong concern and commitment to the welfare of his community and the development of Ayedire local government and the State of Osun at large.

Ogunkanmi said: “On behalf of good people of Ayedire state constituency, I commiserate with Oluponna Development Association, Ayedire Traditional Council and members of the entire Oluponna community over the transition of Olupo of Oluponna, Oba Emmanuel Onaolapo Oyebanji, Fadare II.

” I also condole the royal family and the Osun Traditional Council on the demise of the Olupo.

“The late Olupo of Oluponna, Oba Emmanuel Onaolapo Oyebanji, was a respected royal father, exemplary and compassionate leader who demonstrated strong concern and commitment to the welfare of his community and the development of Osun.

“He will be remembered for his fatherly roles and wise counsel,” the statement read in part.

However, Hon. Ogunkanmi urged family, friends and associates of Oba Fadare II to approximate his values, and remain steadfast in sustaining his legacies.

He prayed God to grant the soul of late monarch repose as well as provide the fortitude for the family to bear the loss.
