The State Government of Osun has congratulated its citizens on the occasion of the 29th year anniversary of the state’s creation.
It noted the steady growth of the State since 1991, and urged citizens to remain steadfast in supporting good governance.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, the government appreciated its citizens for being people of peace and understanding, adding that these values have contributed to the achievements that have accrued to the state over the years.
The statement read in part: “The State government of Osun, on this important occasion of the State’s anniversary, appreciates its citizens at home and abroad for their contributions to the development of the State since its creation.
“The government most especially acknowledges the consistent alertness of its citizens in ensuring ang guiding good governance in the 29 years existence of the state. Osun has been able to protect its values and remain one of the most peaceful and investment-friendly states in spite of challenges through the years. We are a hardworking, steadfast people, proud of our heritage and unfazed by the odds we have had to wade through since the state was created. Let us continue to work together to protect our values and our state.
” We seize this opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of our past leaders who laid the foundation and building blocks for the development of our dear state. Their vision and sacrifice will continue to be celebrated.
“To achieve the lofty goals set by our founding fathers, the support of the citizens is important . We are strongly committed to building enduring legacies in the State of Osun so we can leave a state that successive generation can be proud of. May the Almighty continue to favour and bless our state.” The statement said.
