Osun Babes Players Donate To Charity Ahead NWFL Season

Smiles widened and cheers erupted as players of Nigeria Women Premier League Side, Osun Babes FC took time out to visit the Orphanage, sick kids and patients at the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Hospital, Osogbo to show supports for young patients and their families. An annual tradition that is now in its 3rd year.

Led by the Team Manager, Kehinde Johnson, Club’s Secretary, Ronke Ogunbanwo Ajibola, Coach Olayinka Adunola and Team’s Welfare Officer, Kehinde Salami, the team were only allowed to visit only the Orphanage and patients admitted to the Maternity ward and the Children’s ward.

The day started off with some fun interactions between some of the patients and the players as smiles filled the faces of all the players, parents, staff and especially the patients. The players were divided into groups to visit some of the wards of the hospital, personally delivering gift packages, which includes milk, sugar, confectionery items, toiletries and drinks and also taking pictures and praying with some of the patients.

Speaking with the club’s media team, the Captain of the side, Grace Peter hailed the management of the club and also her team-mates for making the gesture possible.

” This can’t be possible without the support of the management and my team-mates and I really want to appreciate them for this” she concluded.

” We are so glad to be here today, to give our full supports to the sick people and children here. We are all united under one God and that is our belief and strength.

Also speaking, stand-in Captain, Esther Elijah noted that it is a thing of joy to pray, spend time and support the sick and less privileged.

“The aim of coming today is to show our appreciation for the support we’ve been given by giving back to the community and to remind the sick that God still loves them and cares for them.”

” We hope this visit will inspire them, make them stronger and heal them as they struggle with their ailment.

The Omoluabi Queens visit to the hospital and orphanage home is a day that both the players and officials of the team look forward to every season and has come to stay since the last three years.
