Osun Assembly Passes 53 Bills Into Law In Seven Years

Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam has said if the 53 bills passed into law between 2011 and 2018 by the State legislature are faithfully implemented they would surely translate to improving service to humanity.

Speaker of the House, Dr. Salaam stated this while presenting the bills recently passed by the Assembly for the assent of the Governor.

Dr. Salaam commended the effort of the governor in administering the affairs of the state in the last eight years.

He gave kudos to the governor on his landmark achievements and giant strides of development in the state of Osun since the commencement of his administration in 2010.

He said the House of Assembly has tried to add to the progress of the state by making impactful laws for the people of the state.

According to him, “by the special grace of God, the 5th and 6th Assembly has passed 53 meaningful bills into law which have impacted positively in the life of people of the state”.

“We have laws that is good for the development of the people and the state in general, laws that will lead us to prosperity and good destination” he added.

He described the executive arm of government as good partner in progress since the last eight years of the Aregbesola’s administration.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative matters, Hon. Ipoola Binuyo while presenting the lawmakers to the Governor appreciated him for the eight laws assented to, towards the development of the state.

However, all the eight laws assented to includes: State of Osun Service Commission Establishment [Amendment] 2017 no. 1, State of Osun Universal Basic Education law 2017 no.1, State of Osun Regulation of Sand Dealings and Dredging  operations law 2018, State of Osun Administration of Criminal Justice law 2018, State of Osun Social Protection Law 2018, State of Osun Health Insurance Scheme law 2018, State of Osun Assets Management Agency law 2018 and State of Osun House of Assembly Service Commission Establishment [Amendment] no.2  respectively
