The House of Assembly member representing Obokun constituency, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has condoled the family of a former Attorney-General of the Old-Western Region, Dr Festus Adebisi Ajayi, LLM, PhD, OON, over the death of the legal luminary.
The late Dr Ajayi, a Senior Advocate of Nigerian (SAN) and a member of Body of Bencher, hails from Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Council Area of the state.
He died at the age of 92.
In a statement, Oyintiloye conveyed his condolence to the family describing the late legal luminary as one of the few Nigeria’s finest legal practitioners, special species who bestrode the legal world even before the nation got independence.
He said the late Pa Ajayi has demonstrated commitment to national development, service at both private and public capacity.
“he believed in the best for the people and has always remain on top, just as his professional acumen brought stabilized the Old-Western region through legal profession”.
“As a law reformer, in the old Western Region, he excelled as a legal draftman for the region, after which he was appointed as the Solicitor-General and later Attorney-General for the region.
“The late Dr Ajayi was a good example who always wants the best for his legal profession, his country and the upcoming generations.
“He branded himself with credibility and command the respect of all both in private and public life, hence he lived a life worthy of emulation”, Oyintiloye said.
The lawmaker then noted that the late Dr Festus Ajayi would be greatly missed, as the vacuum he had left would be difficult to fill.
He condoled the family, friend, associate and the people of the Western Nigeria in general for the loss, praying that God grant him eternal rest.
