Ahead of Osun governorship election, operatives of the police in Ile Ife, have begun raid on criminal hideouts so as to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
Our correspondent gathered the raid which started few days ago, started with a warning to hoodlums to refrain from violence on the election day or leave the state.
According to the Area Commander of Moore Division in Ile Ife, Funsho Adegboye, the busting of perceived criminal hideouts in the ancient town is based on complaints about criminal activities in the ancient city during electioneering.
Adegboye stated that his men have since arrested 10 miscreants in the town under ‘Operation Eradication of Criminal Hideouts”.
He added that among those arrested are an alleged ring leader of a notorious cult group from Iremo area, Kunle Adegoke.
