Oshiomhole Faults Imo APC Primary, Dissolves Gulak Committee

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has faulted the governorship primary in Imo State.

He described the result of the election as fake, adding that the party had dissolved the Ahmed Gulak-led Committee that conducted the primary.

Oshiomhole stated this on Tuesday while fielding questions from journalists after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the state house in Abuja.

According to him, another committee will be set up immediately for the conduct of fresh primaries in the state before the end of the week.

Oshiohmole, who said he was in the villa to update President Buhari on the developments in the APC, also ruled out the possibility of recognizing results from parallel primaries from states.

“There is no parallel. We are a structured organization and we are governed by rules, and these are rules that represent the contract amongst and between members of the All Progressives Congress.

“In Imo, not too good news for today and it’s not surprising. They have to learn to begin to comply with rules. They have two fake results and we are dumping both fake results – none of them is genuine and we will conduct, disband and appoint a fresh committee, electoral panel that would conduct a transparent direct primaries that reflects the will of the members of APC in Imo State, regardless of the interests and the powers that are behind any of the groups”.
