The One Voice protest march eventually kicked off from the National Stadium, Lagos on Monday morning with Tuface, a former lead convener, conspicuously absent. The protest was instead led by Seyi Law and Sowore.

There were fears that the protest would not hold when in earlier today, fully armed policemen and armored personnel carriers (APCs) took over the National Stadium venue of the planned protest.

Perhaps to maintain calm, Lagos Commissioner for Police, Fatai Owoseni was physically present on the scene to ensure proper security. A police patrol helicopter also hovered in the air over about 2000 protesters who participated in the march.
