Ondo Govt Reacts To Akeredolu’s Health After Wife’s Leaked Audio

Ondo State Government on Tuesday, addressed the growing anxiety about the health of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The administration said that it was under pressure to allay the public’s worries and provide assurances “that by the grace of God, there is no cause for alarm”.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde, asserted that Akeredolu had a health challenge but has received treatment and is recuperating speedily.

The statement followed the leaked audio where Akeredolu’s wife alerted that her husband is on a sick bed after eating a “concoction” allegedly from a female aide, Bunmi Ademosun.

The spokesperson empathized that his principal is human and the immunity his office enjoys does not extend to physical wellbeing.

Olatunde pointed out that, in contrast to rumors, the governor is still carrying out his official duties despite his illness and he is not in a critical condition.

The Executive Council and Security Council meetings last week, where decisions were made on the escalating violence in Ikare-Akoko, were included in the government’s list of his recent engagements.

“The Governor, who participated in rigorous campaign activities on the 7th of January, couldn’t have been bedridden as widely speculated.

“Last Friday, Governor Akeredolu still inaugurated a new Refrigerated Van for the use of Meat Dealers in the State. He also received the Melvin Jones Award of the Lions Club International same day.”

Olatunde thanked everyone for their prayers, regardless of political affiliation, and he advised everyone of good will to reject baseless rumors that could lead to unwarranted concern.
