A Lagos-based business mogul, Alhaji Sikiru Wahab Atanda, has been installed the Otunba of Iwoland.
Atanda, who is a prominent indigene of Iwo, was installed alongside his wife, Alhaja Aishat Wahab, as Yeye Otunba of Iwoland.
Barrister Basiru Quadri was also installed the Ekaarun of Iwoland.
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, enjoined recipients of the titles to channel their respective offices in complementing the efforts of the palace in facilitating anticipated developments to Iwoland.
Addressing the populace in his palace at the installation ceremony, Oba Akanbi stated that Iwo honorary titles are exclusive for people of modest character, saying the antecedents of recipients and prospective expectations from their pedigree earned them the title.
He charged the recipients to protect Iwo’s interest at all costs and device the privilege in attracting investors to Iwo and improving the standard of living of the people of the town.
The monarch expressed hope of maximum performance of the recipients in promoting Iwoland and her people, just as he cautioned them against betraying the palace.
In his remarks, the new Otunba of Iwoland, Chief Atanda, expressed gratitude to Oluwo for honouring him with the title.
Atanda assured Oluwo of his loyalty, promising to complement his aspiration to attaining a developed Iwo.
