This is contrary to reports on Friday that Obiano had been released after he was arrested in Lagos shortly after the swearing-in of his successor into the Anambra State government house.
He was said to be on his way out of the country.
Obiano and his wife have been in the news since Thursday after his wife and Bianca Ojukwu, wife of Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, fought during the swearing-in ceremony of Chukwuma Soludo as Anambra governor.
