OAU Management Promises To End Accreditation Crisis By September

The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife has promised to end the present accreditation crisis rocking some departments and faculties in the institution.

Recall that the Faculty Of Law, Dentistry, Department of Fine Arts, Botany &Medical Rehabilitation Department lost accreditation on orders of the National Universities Commission NUC.

It was further gathered that this is the third time Faculty of Law will lose accreditation as it lost it in 1992, 2006, 2018 respectively.

Also, a source who pleaded anonymity stated that the Department Of Botany never got full accreditation since its inception as a course of study in the university.

Speaking in a telephone interview with our correspondent, the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju stated that the withdrawal of accreditation will be sorted out by September.

“We are going to sort it out, latest by September, and everything will come back to shape,” he said.
